Outreach is of high value to the Florence Church.  A mission organization is identified each month to receive all mission offerings.

CAMO - HONDURAS

CAMO was launched in 1993 by Kathy Tschiegg a former Peace Corps nurse who saw too many Honduran infants and children die due to a lack of medical equipment and technology. Today, CAMO is one of the most recognized non-profit health care organizations in the region. It serves around 100,000 people annually with services ranging from breast exams and prosthetics to neo-natal care and eye surgery.

Caring Community

Caring Community is a local outreach program serving individuals and families in Wakeman Village and surrounding townships (including Florence Twp) that need emergency assistance. We provide supplemental food assistance, funding support for those facing utility shutoff notices or evictions, and preventative healthcare.

Our food pantry is located at St. Mary’s. It is supplied by buying food from Second Harvest. The Scouts also supply us with their yearly collection of food. There are several donations of food from other sources throughout the year. There is a monthly donation program collected by our churches. We are a 501 c(3) organization. Donations are tax exempt. We are operated by volunteers.

Harvest for Hunger is an annual community-wide campaign that helps raise food and funds to help stock food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters throughout our region which includes Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.

Help us reach our 2018 Goal to provide over
1 million meals!

April Mission

Youth Camp Scholarship Fund

Every summer, our church provides the opportunity, through the camp scholarship fund, for our youth to attend a week at Camp Patmos.  Each camper, who regularly attends church, is given at least a partial scholarship thanks to the generous gifts of the congregation during the month of April.

Camp Patmos is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association. All programs guide campers to a deeper understanding of faith in Jesus Christ and its relevance to their lives. Schedules and activities facilitate the development of relationships between counselors and campers which provides effective ministry to our youth. You can also help this camp keep the costs down, by donating directly to the camp.  Donations can be made on their website or mail your gifts to Camp Patmos c/o Linda Adams, 3410 Mogdore Rd., Mogadore, OH  44260

MAY MISSION

Abigail Ministries was founded 26 years ago, to focus on helping men and women make informed pregnancy decisions. Since then, we strive to help them choose life for their unborn children by helping them understand their options, providing encouragement and support, and meeting some of the physical needs they have.

As a ministry, we care about both their physical and spiritual wellbeing. We promote abstinence and educate our clients about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and share with them that God values their lives and cares about the decisions they make. We are not here to judge them for their past or future choices. Rather, we hope to bring healing to the broken hearts and lives by sharing God’s love and honest, straight-forward answers with them. We operate two crisis pregnancy centers: our original center in Norwalk and a center in Willard.

JUNE MISSION

The Piggyback Foundation was founded in 2007 to help carry families through times of need because every child loves a piggyback ride. We do Big, little things to create joy for families faced with a life threatening illness. We focus on families from all walks of life, that are not receiving services elsewhere and need help to maintain normalcy for all the children in the family. We help families maintain a sense of normalcy during times of serious illness by providing assistance to meet the emotional, educational and physical needs of the children.

Although over 50% of our funds are raised through the hard work and donations at When Pigs Fly, we still need your personal financial gift to be able to say yes to families trying to maintain normalcy for their children when struck by the devastating affects of a life threatening illness such as cancer.

July Mission

The Gideons International

The Gideons International is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and by providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognized for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them.

We believe distributing copies of God’s Word plants powerful seeds God can use according to His own timing (I Corinthians 3:6), allows many to read the truth for themselves (John 8:32), provides a lasting witness (Hebrews 4:12), and makes it easier for those we reach to boldly spread the Good News (II Timothy 2:2).
